On Friday I used the word GLOP and promised to elaborate this week. Glop is intended to remind us that our life's goal is to fill our pride bank and avoid shame and blame deposits. It is the standard by which I have tried to live my life.
Glop is an unattractive, unappealing word I use to describe anything that tempts people to put themselves in harms way. Glop lives large in alcohol, drugs, casinos, food, boardrooms, bedrooms and even shops--bricks and mortar or on-line.
Glop tempts people toward hurtful and self-destructive behaviors. It makes a mess time and time again. We see this over and over with famous and not so famous people.
I encourage you to check out your glopful potentials and choices and work hard to reduce or eliminate them from your repertoire. Check out the inventories at www.stopglop.com. I wish you health, healing and happiness.
Bye For Now,
Bill

I'm With You Bill!
ReplyDeleteMimi, Florida
I woke this morning to read Bill's blog. Noticing one had not been posted for today as yet, I first hoped that Bill and his family are fine. My next thought was to create a message to myself for a productive, prosperous day. We can encourage and manage our pride banks by a simple shift in our thinking. Saying to ourselves, we are compassionate and caring folks, as Bill's "Pledge to Myself" offers. Shake up those "just another day" patterns, open your head and heart to those things that help you feel confident, secure and peaceful. Wishing you all that, and certainly much much more.
